When i offer things i get the same people asking

Hi When i offer i get the same peolpe asking for items, I now had the woman e-mail me 3 times same e-mail same typo's and 1 of her e-mails is from a sales room.
Am rather reluctant to give to someone going to sell items on. I would like people in genuine need of items to get them. How do i weed out the sellers?
I have a seller on block aready from last year.
This post might get taken down but hope someone can give me an answer?
I have reported this person over to admin of the site they posted the e-mails from.
Just seem so unfair to people that might no have acess to the net till there at lunch hence i wait 24 hours after i post to take a name out a hat.

I must admit that I was looking for the page of 'rules' the other day but cant seem to find them. I wanted to check a few things out too. I can see your point. If not taken the items are generally recycled through charity rather than the landfill anyways so why ask for charity items on freecycle?

Well there e-mail was - - - - - - salerooms that is the e-mail address that contacted me on 3 different id's same typos same womans name.
If I wanted to sell it i could put an advert in as supermarket and shop windows in our town. But am not like that I would just like someone that genuine and needs a table in chairs maybe a family of 6 or something. I just dont like people getting things for nothing and selling them on and telling lies to get them. Ok they havent told a lie they just want to know if they had fabric seats and what colour but the bit they sent from a sales room to me is wrong. Maybe am just stuck in my ways, There name and e-mail address is no longer in the draw now it is delited.
I would not mind if people was collecting for a charity I would happly donate to that . There should be rules for this. And maybe admin need to start looking who is getting what and giving what? I try give more that i recieve. Whole part of this is keeping stuff out of landfills for free not to line some gready persons pocket. There had my rant for the day lol.

I'd say it depends on what you are offering.

My own take on it is that is someone somewhere can make use of something that I can't, then good luck to them. I'd rather someone didn't make money out of that process but it isn't essential.

For items of higher value, I'd eBay them myself if that's what I wanted to happen to an item, I'd usually rather gift them to a fellow freecycler, what goes around comes around.

I too wait for a while before replying to anyone, I guess I'd rather give first shout to someone local, someone I see has offered things in the past (there are several I want I want posters around at the moment) or someone that has done me a good turn in the past and this is a chance for me to do one for them.

My bugbear at the moment is peole who REPEATEDLY ask for high value items. Freecycle is for giving as far as I am concerned, wanted posts should really be for things that it is reasonable to think that people want to offload (e.g. old sofas, furniture, topsoil etc) and not laptops (minimum xp intsalled), a 12-14 ft trampoline (must be in good condition with enclosure) and so the list of examples could go on.....

ha, a good old rant does me good now and again :-)

I dont like the lies either. I had several emails all the same from the same email addy but with different names. Was told the family were big fans of the items I had on several occaisions for different stuff! Turns out they do a lot for charity. Then I was given a number to call if I had anymore stuff. In other words 'give it to us rather than freecycle it'

Am all for letting someone else get a kick of the ball but when it is burst there not gonna be happy but then maybe genuine people gonna get a chance. This dining table in chairs is G-plan it aint no tatt and it is years old I just wont have the room come sunday for it. Is there not away to where you have to offer before you receive? Fair enough if someone is starting from scratch ect but am sure they clothes that no longer fit? items that no longer go with there new decor? Like my box of kitchen stuff there is some really nice stuffin there just dont go with my kitchen now some of it is new never been used, Even harrods mug and 4 coasters but never put that in the listing.the woman has taken ill that is coming to get it but i had a text to let me know she was in hospital and will make arangements when she is home, I could drop it off if there local or some area's i know , but i'll have to wait till she is better. Am buzzing about alot here and there lol

As far as I am aware you do have to offer something on the site before recieving something. I remember that part of the joining up email. Im thankful I have a lot of excess items that means I can offer a few things each week.

Alot has gone to family and friends but what they dont need I put on here. I have a clock collection here and i need to put 1 or 2 on the site as they no longer match the rest of the house :( there hidding in a cupboard and i need to test them and see if they still work. I would have put a couple of uplighters on but the plastic centers where brittle in ended up in a bin cause they snapped but the shade bit had a biger bit cut out and keeping slugs and snails away from his grandads plants well veg they streach pretty big.he trying for his giant turinips this year :D

I hope everything goes well for your other half. :) Like your grandad, my dad is a keen gardner and it is amazing what can be converted to help with the garden.

I nearly had to throw out an upllighter myself. Smoke alarm went off and I told my friend to fan it with something. A minute later an uplighter came hurtling through the kitchen towards me......yep he had used it to fan the alarm with and it slipped out his hands lol.

lol yeah uplighters when inbits come in handy. youknow they disposible shoes workman wear? I find there very good at keeping the smoke alarms clean as all air gets though them good for when your painting the celling lol. I'll make you laugh when stripping wallpaper add a dash (less that half a cap) of cheap fabric softener just falls off the wall when you pass the scraper over it wood chip chip off all the chips spray/ brush on the water solution on wait a few secons in go easy as that lol.and try get paint in rectangle tubs they make great stacking tool and bits storage (cut a hole in narrow end's) My other half is gonna be ok after this op a new lease of life itgonna give him and a 10" scar lol so he can bragg lol
